Mike Ford Estate Agents and Valuers Ltd. is an independent Estate Agency serving Melton Mowbray and the surrounding area. Although a small, family-run business, Managing Director, Mike Ford has over 23 years’ experience in estate agency, working for a major regional estate agency based in Melton. This helps Mike Ford Estate Agents and Valuers to strike a working balance between expertise and local market knowledge.

After cutting his teeth in St. Albans, Mike first came to the Melton marketplace, working within a High Street Estate Agency. During his time here, Mike became well-known in the area, establishing a reputation for honesty, integrity and hard work, while fostering similar values within the branch in which he worked.

When the Estate Agency Mike worked for was acquired by a major regional Building Society, Mike felt that changes made to the running of the agency were incompatible with his values and took the decision to start his own agency.

Alongside his wife, Natasha, herself local to the area with strong social and professional ties to Melton Mowbray, as well as a good working knowledge; Mike established Mike Ford Estate Agents and Valuers in January 2018. The company was founded with support from RR Accountancy who provided Mike and Natasha with guidance in the early stages, ensuring they were aware of the requirements of the undertaking and that financial arrangements were in place from the beginning.

Choosing to operate without the overheads of a High Street branch, Mike Ford Estate Agents are able to provide competitive fees, while Mike has retained his reputation for honesty and integrity and built the company around these values. With strong existing relationships with ancillary services, such as Mortgage Advisors, EPC Assessors, Solicitors, Conveyancers and Removals companies, Mike is able to provide clients with a full service, providing support every step of the way.

This combined to create a positive start for Mike Ford Estate Agents – so much so that they have since employed their first two permanent staff members, establishing a small team with a huge amount of experience and expertise in the industry and the local marketplace. RR Accountancy also provided support here, ensuring they were correctly registered as an employer and prepared for the additional cost, including pension contributions.

Although only in their first year of trading, success has far exceeded expectations and are outselling and listing more properties than many High Street agents. Their signs can now be seen outside properties all over town, as their reputation and market presence continues to grow.
